Activated carbon is made of high quality coconut shells from Southeast Asia. It is a porous carbon material. It's obtained by carbonization of coconut shells and resin under isolated air condition at a high temperature, followed by oxidation activation with air, carbon dioxide, water vapor, or a mixture of the three gases at 400-900℃. Due to its highly developed porous structure and huge specific surface area, activated carbon has very strong adsorption capacity. It's widely used for air purification, water treatment and gold recovery.
