Application Of Polyaluminium Chloride Flocculant In Water Treatment
Over the years, polyaluminium chloride has developed into a flocculant with mature technology and large market sales, which tends to replace the traditional flocculant. Polyaluminium chloride is a commonly used coagulant in water treatment. It has remarkable water treatment effect and plays an important role in the purification of drinking water and industrial sewage. The content of polyaluminium chloride commonly used by us is 26%, 28% and 30%.
Polyaluminium chloride plays an important role in water treatment. In the use of flocs, it has the advantages of fast forming, easy formation of large alum, fast settling speed and good effluent quality. It can effectively adsorb and remove harmful substances such as iron, fluorine, arsenic and bacteria in the water. It also has the functions of turbidity removal, decolorization and deodorization.
Is polyaluminium chloride water treatment affected by the pH value of raw water?
Polyaluminium chloride has a wide range of application to the pH value of raw water, but it also has certain limitations. Through experimental detection and theoretical application, the CODcr removal rate increases significantly with the increase of the pH value of raw water.
When the pH value of raw water is in the range of 6-8, the flocculation effect is the best. When the pH value is equal to 7, the CODcr removal rate is the highest, reaching more than 85%, because the pH value is small, Polyaluminium chloride is easy to form a combination with H and aluminum sulfate. When the pH value is high, it is easy to form aluminum hydroxide with Oh, which is difficult to separate from pollutants, hindering the smooth suspension of coagulation reaction and greatly reducing the treatment efficiency. PAC adapts to wide pH value, but the water treatment effect is the best when the water quality pH value is neutral.
