Manganese Sand Filter Media – A Powerful Tool For Iron Removal
Manganese sand filter media is made from natural manganese ore as raw material and is obtained through multiple mechanized modern processes such as washing, crushing, drying, magnetic separation, and vibration screening. It has a rough brown appearance, angular shape, neutral hardness, and low water and impurity content.
It is used in manganese sand filters in the pre-treatment process. Its main component is manganese dioxide, with a content ranging from 35% to 45%. It features simple process, convenient operation, low project cost, long-term stability, and easy management.
Manganese sand is catalytic by nature and is not soluble. There is no increase in the total dissolved solids of the treated water, and it is not necessary to backwash manganese greensand every time the well pump starts up.
