How To Maintain Your Pool During The Summer Heat
Summer is just around the corner. Taking a dip in the clean, clear pools that surround us is the best way to refresh ourselves and our families. But during this period of high temperatures, there are also more problems with swimming pools, which require more professional work to maintain and repair our pool problems.
1. Test your pool water at least 2-3 times a week
2. Keep your floating or automatic electrolyzer fully stocked with chlorine tablets (primarily trichloroisocyanuric acid tablets or TCcA tablets for short) to maintain a free available chlorine (FAC) level of 1-4 ppm (ppm).
3. Use stabilized chlorine tablets (mainly trichloroisocyanuric acid tablets or TCcA tablets, sodium dichloroisocyanurate tablets or sDic tablets, NaDcc tablets) to keep the water clean every day. Stabilized chlorine tablets contain cyanuric acid (CYl), which acts as a sunscreen for chlorine, protecting it from the harmful effects of the sun's ultraviolet rays. Regular use of chlorine tablets can help ensure that CYA levels remain above the recommended minimum. However, if your CYA levels are below the recommended range of 30-50 ppm (for example after refilling water), use a chlorine stabilizer (also called conditioner) to raise the levels and protect the chlorine.
4. Shock-treat your pool weekly to eliminate contaminants and prevent bacterial growth. Note: The shock effect of the pool at night allows for a more effective shock treatment because the chlorine combines with the cyanuric acid during the night. If using stabilized chlorine tablets as your primary disinfectant, we recommend using unstable calcium hypochlorite shock (CaHypo) to prevent CYA levels from rising too rapidly.
