How to identify drinking water grade PAC
Experts give three key identification points:
The aluminum oxide content must be ≥29%, and the best choice is 30% spray-dried type
The packaging clearly marks the standard number "GB15892-2020", and comes with a third-party test report
The 10% aqueous solution should be a light yellow transparent liquid with no obvious precipitation at the bottom
There are also particularities in the use process. The water plant needs to prepare solid PAC into a 10-30% concentration solution, which is fully hydrolyzed to a reddish brown color, and then diluted to 2-5% for addition.
"Preparation on the same day is an iron rule," the technical director of Henan Lvyuan Water Treatment emphasized, "It is normal for the agent to precipitate slightly after dilution, but excessive precipitation means that the product is unqualified."
With the implementation of the GB15892-202 standard in tap water plants across the country, the drinking water grade polyaluminum chloride production line is undergoing intelligent transformation. Three leading domestic companies recently invested nearly 200 million yuan to introduce a German online monitoring system to achieve millisecond-level real-time monitoring of heavy metal indicators.
