Water Treatment Filter Media-Quartz Sand
Quartz sand filter media is generally used as pre-treatment parts of industrial water treatment together with activated carbon and softened resin filter media. Their filtration effect is like that of water penetrating into the ground through sand, blocking the suspended solids in the water, mainly for those fine suspended solids and iron and manganese exceeding the standard.
Quartz sand is in white crystalline form. It is mainly used to remove excessive iron in the water (the iron exceeds the standard, the water quality is yellow, the water drips on the ground for a long time to form a yellow mark, or leaves a yellow substance on the pool wall).
Quartz sand filter media is a water treatment filter material made from natural quartz ore. It is processed through crushing, screening, washing, drying, and secondary screening. The main component is silicon dioxide. In water treatment systems, it is used in quartz sand filters. Its main function is to remove larger particles such as impurities, sediment, and suspended solids from the raw water. After this process, the turbidity of the raw water is greatly reduced, thereby reducing the workload of reverse osmosis membranes and enabling them to better remove harmful substances in the water. It plays an important auxiliary role and is therefore indispensable.
