Fiber ball filter material is a ball made of fiber filaments with a diameter of 10-50 μm. The porosity of the filter layer is about 95%, and the specific surface area exceeds 104m2/m3. The voids of traditional quartz sand filter material are only about 40%, and the specific surface area is about 300m2/m3. Due to the large pores and small resistance of fiber ball filter material, the filtration speed can be as high as 30-80m/h, and the water quality of the effluent is good. For traditional sand filtration, due to the large resistance of the filter layer, the filtration speed is about 8m/h. If the flow rate is increased, it is easy to cause penetration.
